Job Description

We are currently seeking an Expediting Specialist to join our Procurement team on a Potash mining project in Saskatchewan. As a Document Controller working within an Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT) in the Owner’s team, you will support a major capital project within an EPCM environment. The Expediting Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of project materials and equipment in accordance with project schedules. This full-time permanent role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-impact projects across Canada. Join us and be a champion of diversity and inclusion.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Expedite all project materials and equipment according to the expediting plan, purchase order, and project schedule.
  2. Monitor supplier, engineering, and manufacturing schedules to ensure timelines are maintained; proactively manage potential delays.
  3. Coordinate and communicate with suppliers and internal disciplines to maintain project schedules.
  4. Interface with clients and project members regarding expediting issues; provide proactive corrective measures.
  5. Ensure submission and approval of all relevant documentation as per the purchase order.
  6. Coordinate with Supplier Quality Surveillance for timely inspections and handling of Non-Conformity Reports.
  7. Manage packing lists and delivery documentation, including export/import requirements.
  8. Collaborate with Logistics to facilitate delivery per Incoterms specified in the purchase order.
  9. Work with Materials Management to plan for receipt of equipment and materials.
  10. Resolve Underage, Overage, Shortage, or Damages (UOS&D) at receipt.
  11. Ensure issuance of Material Receiving Reports (MRR) for received items.
  12. Attest supplier invoices and monitor milestone payment schedules.
  13. Close out purchase orders upon completion.

Qualifications

  1. 2–5 years of progressive experience in EPC, specifically in Expediting.
  2. Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, or Construction Management is an asset.
  3. Sound knowledge of international procurement practices.
  4. Background in other procurement disciplines such as Purchasing, Contracts, Supplier Quality Surveillance, Logistics, Field Experience, and Materials Management.
  5. Strong planning and interpersonal skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues.
  6. High ethical standards, integrity, and emotional intelligence.
  7. Excellent communication and presentation skills for interaction with clients, senior leaders, and team members.
  8. Team-centric approach with the ability to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
