Job summary

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking an Executive Producer for Canada Newsgathering, English Services. This on-site eight-month role leads editorial assignment and daily domestic news coverage across visual, audio, text, streaming and social platforms.

Qualifications

• Seven years of leadership experience in a fast-paced news environment.
• Exceptional critical thinking, news judgement and knowledge of legal/ethical issues in journalism.
• Astute strategist translating audience insights into content decisions and programming results.
• Ability to juggle multiple short and long term tasks and projects under tight deadlines.
• Flexible to work varying hours including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• University degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Editorial and Assignment Planning: determine stories 24/7 across platforms and plan for events.
• Deployment & Resource Coordination: oversee deployment roadmaps, budgets and travel.
• Leadership & Staffing: lead CBC News teams and manage staffing needs.
