Job summary

Thermea Spa Village Whitby is seeking a Director of Food & Beverage to lead the guest journey across all F&B touchpoints, balancing exceptional hospitality with sustainable business performance. This role sits on the Executive Team and requires strategic leadership, financial acumen, and a passion for creating memorable experiences.

You will shape pricing, menus and service standards while building strong teams and collaborating with other departments to deliver a cohesive village experience.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a management position in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
• Strong sense of hospitality and commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
• A natural teacher, coach and mentor to others.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, engage and develop high-performing teams.
• Entrepreneurial spirit; action- and results-oriented.
• Strong business and financial acumen, with an understanding of labour, food and beverage costs, productivity and operational performance.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays when needed in order to support the team and drive operational success.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for all Food & Beverage activities to achieve the objectives of the organization and deliver a best-in-class, trouble-free guest experience.
• Lead a complex, high-volume, multi-outlet Food & Beverage operation, ensuring consistency, quality and operational excellence across all areas.
• Develop and execute annual operating plans, budgets and forecasts, with accountability for revenue, labour, food and beverage costs, margins and overall financial performance.
• Analyze key performance indicators and operational data to identify trends, understand root causes, challenge assumptions and continuously improve performance.
• Identify opportunities to grow revenue and profitability while protecting the guest experience and the Thermea brand.
• Develop pricing, menu, promotional and service strategies informed by guest expectations, market trends, business performance and the positioning of the village.
• Establish and maintain strong operational systems and standards across Front of House and Back of House.
• Ensure all Food & Beverage experiences complement the overall wellness journey and contribute to the feeling of “somewhere else.”
• Maintain exceptional standards for food safety, health and safety, cleanliness, regulatory compliance and guest-facing presentation.
• Ensure effective systems are in place to monitor guest feedback, service standards and recovery opportunities.
• Bring curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset to the operation, continually seeking opportunities to innovate, evolve and improve.
