Altis Technology is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead a student-led not-for-profit in a post-secondary setting in St. Catharines.

The role reports to a Board and drives strategic results with emphasis on inclusion and accessibility. You will partner with student leaders, university stakeholders, and external partners to translate priorities into actions, ensuring governance continuity and mission impact across the campus community.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including senior management or executive leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of governance and financial controls.
  • Experience managing complex budgets and organizational risk.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, people-focused leader to step into an Executive Director role with a student-led, not-for-profit organization within a post-secondary environment. Reporting to a Board of Directors, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership while helping advance an inclusive, accessible and welcoming experience for the student community.

You’ll work closely with elected student leaders, employees, university stakeholders and external partners to turn strategic priorities into meaningful results. As a trusted advisor to the Board, you’ll bring continuity, sound governance and thoughtful leadership to an organization where collaboration, advocacy and student impact are at the heart of the work.

Your Responsibilities
  • You’ll lead the implementation of the strategic plan, translating Board priorities into measurable organizational objectives and outcomes
  • You’ll coach and develop the management team while fostering a high-performing, inclusive and collaborative culture
  • You’ll oversee financial leadership, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, internal controls and long-term financial sustainability
  • You’ll provide governance support and strategic advice to the Board, including policy development, orientation and transition planning
  • You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, risk management, facilities, services, business continuity and organizational resources
  • You’ll build trusted relationships across the university community, government, sector partners and other key stakeholders
  • You’ll oversee legal and regulatory compliance, contracts, insurance, audits and organizational risk
Skills and Qualifications
  • 710+ years of progressive leadership experience, including 6+ years in senior management or executive leadership roles
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Finance or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of governance, financial reporting, controls, organizational risk management and strategic planning
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex budgets and financial operations
  • Experience leading and developing managers and senior leaders
  • Strong communication, negotiation, relationship management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a post-secondary, not-for-profit or multi-stakeholder environment is considered an asset
