Job summary

Manitoba Child Care Association seeks an experienced ECE Director to lead program quality across our centers, modelling high-quality practice and mentoring educators. You will guide teams through difficult decisions to support children's wellbeing.

The successful candidate will hold Manitoba ECE III certification, bring strong pedagogical expertise, and demonstrate compassionate people leadership, regulatory knowledge, and sound financial management for an inclusive, child-centered environment.

Qualifications

• An experienced ECE Director with strong pedagogical expertise and compassionate people leadership.
• Ability to model high-quality practice and mentor educators.
• Strong understanding of play-based, child-centered learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor educators, developing their practice rather than just managing them.
• Create a positive workplace culture where staff feel respected, supported, and valued.
• Handle conflict, performance issues, and staff accountability with tact and fairness.
• Observe, evaluate, and continuously improve programming to meet children’s needs.
• Build meaningful relationships with families and ensure inclusive programming.

• Ability to observe, evaluate, and continuously improve programming
• Understanding of culturally responsive practice and meaningful relationships with families
• The ideal ECE Director is an experienced, Manitoba-certified ECE III who combines strong pedagogical expertise with compassionate people leadership, sound operational and financial management, regulatory knowledge, and a genuine commitment to creating a high-quality, inclusive environment for children, families, and education
