Job summary

Precious Promises Early Learning Centre (PPELC) in Regina is seeking an experienced Centre Director to lead a new childcare centre. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety and quality, and drive a nurturing learning environment in compliance with Saskatchewan regulations.

The role requires ECE III certification and management experience, with a focus on staff leadership, program quality, and stakeholder engagement. The position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• Saskatchewan ECE III certification required.
• Minimum 18 months management experience in licensed childcare.
• First Aid/CPR current or wiling to obtain before start.
• Ability to pass Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks.
• Experience in staff leadership and regulatory compliance.

Job description

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

Precious Promises Early Learning Centre (PPELC) is seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated Centre Director to provide leadership for our new early learning and childcare centre in Regina.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Centre Director will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the Centre, ensuring a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment for children while maintaining compliance with Saskatchewan childcare regulations and PPELC policies. Saskatchewan regulations require the Centre Director to be responsible for day-to-day operations and to meet or exceed ECE III qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Provide overall leadership and operational management of the Centre.
• Ensure compliance with Saskatchewan childcare legislation, licensing requirements, and PPELC policies and procedures.
• Lead the recruitment, onboarding, supervision, scheduling, coaching, and development of Early Childhood Educators and support staff.
• Provide leadership in delivering high-quality, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate early learning programs.
• Maintain appropriate staffing, supervision, health, safety, and emergency-preparedness standards.
• Build positive relationships and maintain effective communication with children, families, employees, the Board, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Oversee enrolment, records, budgeting, purchasing, payroll-related administration, and other operational activities.
• Support continuous improvement and provide regular operational and performance reports to the Board.

Required Qualifications

• Saskatchewan Early Childhood Educator Level III (ECE III) certification – mandatory.
• Minimum 18 months of demonstrated management experience in a licensed early learning and childcare centre – mandatory.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to satisfy applicable requirements before commencing employment.
• Ability to successfully complete required Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks.
• Demonstrated experience in staff leadership, childcare operations, regulatory compliance, and family engagement.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• A Master's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or a closely related education field will be considered a strong asset.
• Four or more years of progressive childcare experience would be an asset.
• Experience with budgeting, financial administration, staff recruitment and performance management.
• Knowledge of Saskatchewan's childcare regulatory environment and Play and Exploration: Early Learning Program Guide.
