Job summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking an experienced executive support professional to assist the Director, Indigenous Strategic Initiatives and the Senior Advisor/AVP, Indigenous affairs. This role liaises with the university, Indigenous communities, and external agencies, handling confidential communications and project coordination.

It requires tact, discretion, and a deep understanding of university policies and Indigenous initiatives, enabling effective collaboration across campus

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of two years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own
• Demonstrates a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Responsibilities

• Manages projects and project components for the OISI office.
• Coordinates project plans with Indigenous initiatives across campus to ensure delivery.
• Keeps the Director informed on developments and meetings.
• Collaborates with Indigenous communities and partners, respecting protocols.
• Writes confidential communications and formal reports, including funding applications.
• Liaises with Indigenous portfolios across campuses to achieve strategic goals.
