We have developed a ground-breaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of the most common heart rhythm disorder, atrial fibrillation – which can cause stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications.

Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. To achieve this, we have developed The Globe Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.

We have now completed our pivotal clinical study and our focus is on regulatory approvals and commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.

We currently have over 400 employees spread out between five buildings of hybrid office, manufacturing, and warehouse space in the same business park. We are adding a commercial kitchen to our newest building and need an Executive Chef to lead the new internal catering department that will serve our employee community. The role reports to the Manager, Special Projects.

Please note this opportunity is an onsite work arrangement located in Burnaby, BC and is a regular Monday to Friday day shift.

Meaningful work you will be a part of

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Create and develop rotating and varied menus.
  • Prepare healthy, hot lunches for Kardium employees, considering dietary preferences and restrictions.
  • Provide packaged breakfast items, snacks, and dinners employees can purchase to-go.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene standards by following Fraser Health standards.
  • Manage inventory of food, supplies, and equipment; minimize food waste by optimizing ingredient usage.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and service vendors.
  • Provide catering for internal meetings as needed.
  • Prepare special food items for occasional events as planned in conjunction with our social committee.
What you bring to the team

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years of culinary experience in a commercial or corporate setting.
  • Experience leading and motivating a small team.
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written English.
  • Valid FOODSAFE Level 2 certification is required.
  • Red Seal Cook certification or post-secondary culinary or hospitality studies is preferred.
  • First aid certification is a bonus.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and other computer programs.
  • Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • A positive attitude, friendly, and welcoming manner.
Compensation

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

  • $75,000 – $95,000 CAD Annually

The total cash we’ve listed for this position includes a base salary, plus a contribution to a Registered Retirement Savings plans (RRSP) to help support your financial goals.
