Job description

Fraser Academy is a GR 1-12 school located in the heart of Kitsilano in Vancouver, dedicated to serving children with language-based learning differences like dyslexia. FAx is the outreach arm of the school and we aim to serve the 1 in 5 people in the larger community who learn differently. We provide remedial programs for individuals, training for educators and educational consulting services. Our remedial services for learners include Orton Gillingham instruction, remedial math, executive functioning coaching and NILD Educational Therapy. We offer workshops for educators and schools in Orton-Gillingham certified instruction, executive function in the classroom, wellness in the classroom and inclusive education. We also provide consulting for families to facilitate a clearer understanding of learning profiles and how they can be applied in schools.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a proven Executive Function Skills Development expert to join our dynamic team and play a key role in continuing to coordinate, develop and lead our executive function programs. Position Type: Full-time (11:00 am-7:00 pm – Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday), Summer Hours 8:00 am – 4:00 pm in July and the last two weeks of August.

Reports to: Executive Director, FAx

Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and direction to the Executive Function (EF) coaching faculty and their growth including training, professional development, and evaluation.
  • Oversee the onboarding and training of new faculty in the EF Coaching program, including practices and FAx policies.
  • Liaise with families as needed regarding student learning, progress, and development plans, and support faculty communication with families.
  • Review, improve, develop and implement the EF Coach Training program.
  • Co-create, review, develop and implement content EF in the Classroom professional development series.
  • Provide onsite mentorship in the After3 program two nights a week.
  • Respond to related external inquiries and cultivate new client relationships.
  • Includes providing EF Coaching services to clients for a minimum of 10 hours a week.
  • Additional administrative tasks as needed or assigned by the Executive Director.

Requirements:

  • 5+ Years of experience in an EF coaching role (or equivalent).
  • 3+ Years in mentoring and supporting staff.
  • Program development and implementation experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree in psychology, education or a field directly related to executive function coaching or to be completed within 3 years.
  • Understanding students with learning differences and their learning profiles preferred.
  • First-aid certification or is willing to complete the training.
