Job summary

Fresh Prep Foods Inc in Montreal is seeking an Executive Chef to lead and build our new Kitchen, heading both Hot and Cold Kitchen, Commissary and Assembly operations for our Ready to Eat line of appetizers, sauces, soups, and meals. You will mentor a growing team and shape culinary direction while ensuring CFIA-compliant quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Requires leadership experience in building and mentoring kitchen teams.
• Develop and implement processes to ensure quality and consistency in recipes.
• Experience overseeing productivity and operational efficiency in a commercial kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Lead the new Kitchen, build and grow the team, ensure procedures are followed for quality.
• Direct prep, cooking, plating, and packaging for Ready to Eat products for direct-to-consumer delivery.
• Develop new recipes, run trial batches, validate costs and scalability with Culinary Team.
• Plan rotating weekly production balancing costs, labor targets, and variety standards.
• Collaborate with QA, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Production to ensure ingredient availability and accurate yields.
• Manage Team labour, grocery, and supplies budget performance.
• Ensure product quality, taste, presentation, and on-time order fulfillment in a CFIA facility.
• Ensure equipment and supplies to keep up with expanding recipes and volumes.
