Job summary

Strike Group is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate excavators and related machinery on pipeline projects in Northern AB. You will work under the site foreman, follow hand signals, and support safe, efficient construction activities while upholding our safety culture and Code of Conduct.

Qualifications include Ground Disturbance Level 2, experience with excavators on pipelines, and the ability to work outdoors in extreme weather.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating excavator on pipeline-related work is required.
  • Experience working around live pipelines is an asset.
  • Experience on small to mid-bore pipeline is an asset.
  • Experience operating shear is an asset.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Detail oriented with a mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.
  • Attends and participates in various meetings such as monthly safety meetings, pre-job and tailgate meetings.

Job description

Position Summary

Under the guidance and direction of the site foreman or direct supervisor, the heavy equipment operator is responsible for operating heaving equipment in an efficient, safe and appropriate manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life while supporting construction activities.

Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect and fairness.
