Responsibilities Tasks
- Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation
- Operate heavy equipment
- Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
- Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
- Measure distance, volume, length and weight
- Understand the purpose, proper usgage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS)
- Complete onboard and other logs
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
- Prepare accident reports

- Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
- Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
- Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate
