Job summary

Invest in Canada is seeking an Events Officer to assist with planning and executing events across Canada or internationally. Reporting to the Director of Events, you will collaborate with internal and external resources to ensure events align with the organization’s strategy.

Required are an undergraduate degree in Event Management or related field and 3-5 years of event management experience, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Event Management, Marketing or related field.
  • 3-5 years of technical experience in event management.
  • Broad knowledge of event management, project management, marketing or in a related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills, project management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong client service focus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively in order to adapt and re-prioritize according to changing demands.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and execute events in alignment with event objectives and requirements.
  • Coordinate with service providers for required services and works alongside staff at the event site to ensure all details are coordinated efficiently.
  • Manage on-the-ground logistical challenges and uses sound judgment regarding when to escape issues as required.
  • Consulting with key stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Track and monitor financial resources associated with individual events to ensure compliance with travel and hospitality policies.
  • Assist with the tracking, monitoring and reporting of event outcomes in order to identify and advise on areas of improvement.
  • Support with the management and execution of business agreements with suppliers and partners.
