Job Description:

** 15 Month Contract opportunity **

Reporting to the AVP, CXO Strategy and Business Insights, the Events & Communication Manager leads a variety of in-person, virtual, and hybrid internal and external events for the CXO, providing expert knowledge to meet business objectives, quality standards, and engagement goals.

A creative solutions expert, the Events & Communications Manager ensures the superb delivery of program components and event logistics. This role involves producing signature events for various business partners, collaborating with stakeholders, team members, communications, and vendors. The manager works closely with Marketing, Human Resources, Communication, AV Services, and Multimedia teams to deliver CXO’s goals effectively.

What will you do?

Communications

  • Drive CXO change management, communications, and events
  • Manage relationships with Corporate Communications

Events

  • Manage all aspects of event and project planning for team events, CX Management Team (CXMT) sessions, including advising on event itineraries, show flows, rehearsals, programming, entertainment, event website and attendee platform management, budgets, content coordination, vendor contracts, registration, travel, catering, staffing, safety, and post-event reporting
  • Lead planning and execution of high-complexity events such as Town Halls and AMAs, ensuring seamless online and on-site delivery, directing teams and talent, including show calling and floor management
  • Advise on business agendas to inspire and engage attendees; recommend external speakers and creative talent to enhance engagement; incorporate innovative interaction methods
  • Administer event expenses and billing, including forecasting, approvals, and identifying savings opportunities; manage payments, purchase orders, chargebacks, and reconciliation
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and industry best practices for event planning before, during, and after events
  • Lead initiatives to improve resources, practices, and processes for the team

What you need to succeed?

  • Experience in meeting and event production, creating exceptional virtual and in-person corporate experiences; familiarity with media, platforms, venues; working closely with technical teams
  • Ability to manage partners, vendors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality work; proactive and self-motivated
  • Passion for creative, innovative experiences; awareness of latest trends and techniques
  • Big-picture thinking and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Advanced skills in Excel, MS Office, and adaptability to new databases, graphics, web tools
  • Experience in budget management, expense tracking, and reconciliation
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and issue resolution skills

Preferred skills:

  • Certified Meeting Professional designation (asset)
  • Knowledge of Cvent and Wrike (asset)
  • Deep understanding of industry contracts and terminology
  • Participation in industry associations

The Base Pay range is for the primary location; it may vary based on work location and other factors. Eligible employees participate in incentive plans, which are discretionary and performance-based. Sales roles may have additional incentive plans.
