Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking an Event Security Guard for a temporary assignment in Kitchener, Ontario. The role runs Aug 31 through Oct 30, with a mandatory shift on Sept 26, 2026, at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Expect 8–12 hour shifts, ongoing security duties, and a competitive compensation package. A valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid/ CPR C are required, with opportunity for training and development.

Qualifications

• Valid Security Guard License (Ontario).
• First Aid & CPR C (WSIB Approved).
• Ability to stand and walk for long durations.
• Strong communication and conflict de-escalation skills.
• Authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Report to base operations at Wilfrid Laurier University for sign-in, briefing, and equipment pickup.
• Enforce wristband protocols at designated access control points.
• Maintain high visibility and professionalism at posts near university buildings and residences.
• Monitor crowds, control access points, and report incidents or suspicious activities to site management and SCS Communications.
• Respond to supervisor direction regarding possible relocation of posts during the event.
• Use radios to maintain active communication – radios must remain on and with you at all times unless transferred to relief guard during break.
• Remain standing or walking for extended periods; posts outdoors with varying weather conditions.
• Follow all on-site protocols

• Contract Term: August 31st - October 30th
• Shift Date : Saturday, September 26, 2026 (Mandatory Availability)
• Status : Temporary Event Guard
• Hours : 8 to 12-hour shifts
• Pay Rate : $20.45/hr.

This temporary role requires mandatory availability on September 26, 2026 .

Key Responsibilities:

• Report to base operations at Wilfrid Laurier University for sign-in, briefing, and equipment pickup.
• Enforce wristband protocols at designated access control points.
• Maintain high visibility and professionalism at posts near university buildings and residences.
• Monitor crowds, control access points, and report incidents or suspicious activities to site management and SCS Communications.
