The work

• The Event Marketing Specialist will help develop and execute national sales events. The role involves conceptualizing, planning, and executing event campaigns for various banking products and services. The candidate will be a core member of the external Events team at Equitable Bank, reporting to the Manager, Event Marketing, based in Toronto.

The Core Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, coordinating, and executing the Bank’s involvement in conferences, trade shows, education sessions, and mortgage broker appreciation events.
• Assist in managing the annual event calendar, including sporting events.
• Visit venues to plan layout, seating, menu, design, and décor.
• Coordinate event logistics such as researching, negotiating, securing venues, managing budgets, registration, attendee tracking, and preparing materials.
• Collaborate with internal teams to promote events via email and social media.
• Build and maintain relationships with external partners like event managers and broker associations.
• Organize and maintain inventory of event equipment and marketing materials.
• Assist with invoice management and reconciliation.
• Contribute to post-event evaluations to measure success and suggest improvements.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in event planning.
• Post-secondary certification in Event Planning, Management, or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of event design, flow, and logistics.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects.
• Proactive approach with ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Availability for onsite events during days, evenings, and weekends.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs for event setup.
