Job summary

Explore Edmonton is seeking an Event Manager to deliver exceptional events and client experiences at the Edmonton Convention Centre and supported off-site venues.

Reporting to the Senior Event Manager, you will lead planning and coordination from booking through completion, serving as the primary client contact and coordinating internal teams, partners and external venues to translate requirements into detailed plans and seamless delivery.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or a certificate in Event Management or related field is an asset.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in event planning, client services, hospitality, or related environment.
• Strong client relationships and customer service skills with the ability to manage expectations.
• Solid event planning, project management, organizational and logistical coordination skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple events and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration across internal teams, vendors and partners.
• Experience with event management systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned events from booking through completion, as primary client contact for clients, vendors, contractors and internal teams.
• Translate client objectives into detailed event plans and floor plans.
• Coordinate venue, food & beverage, production, suppliers, contractors and off-site needs.
• Lead planning meetings, site visits, production meetings, test meals and other client activities.
• Maintain event plans, service orders, floor plans, costs, charges and event details in Momentus.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Culinary and partners to coordinate requirements and resolve issues.
• Provide onsite support and troubleshoot issues during events.
• Support post-event activities including invoicing, feedback and continuous improvement.
