About the Opportunity

Staff Grabs is recruiting on behalf of a renowned, high-performing catering company known for producing elevated culinary experiences at weddings, corporate events, and private gatherings across the Lower Mainland. We are looking for a skilled and adaptable Event Chef to join their team and lead the execution of off-site events while supporting kitchen operations.

This is a full-time role, with an immediate start, ideal for someone who thrives in high-volume settings, takes pride in food quality and presentation, and leads with humility and precision.

Key Responsibilities

Event Execution & Culinary Leadership

• Lead on-site culinary operations for events (weddings, corporate, private)
• Execute dishes with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency
• Adapt to various environments, including outdoor, residential, and large venues
• Work closely with prep teams to manage packaging and transport

Team & Operations Support

• Train and supervise event culinary staff onsite
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and event equipment
• Communicate with internal teams (logistics, sales, operations) for smooth coordination
• Participate in post-event reviews and continuous improvement

Requirements

• 2–3 years in catering, high-volume restaurants, or hotel kitchens
• Valid BC Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hours
• Flexible availability: weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Comfortable using Gmail, Google Suite, and catering coordination apps
• Must complete a Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector) upon hire
• Calm under pressure and solution-oriented
• High attention to detail and commitment to excellence

• Monthly performance-based commission on eligible food sales
