Position Overview

The Event Centre Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes. They aim to provide guests with an enjoyable and positive experience, ensuring safety and health protocols are followed at all times. They may also assist in other areas as needed.

Education and Experience

• Valid Alberta ProServe and ProTect certifications.
• Preference given to candidates with a Bartending Certificate and experience, or 2-3 years of bartending experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment is required.
• Hospitality food and beverage operational experience is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain high service standards.
• Experience with POS systems is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Greet guests courteously and promote orders for drinks and food.
• Mix, garnish, and present drinks responsibly following recipes.
• Deliver professional beverage and food service.
• Understand all details of event orders, including timings and requirements.
• Maintain proper bar setup, inventory, and storage of perishables.
• Record orders and payments accurately, ensuring accountability.
• Handle cash and balance transactions properly.
• Clean and store all bar equipment and glassware after events.
• Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of the work area.
• Work efficiently and professionally with team members.
