The Event Centre Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests based on the Event Centre`s standardized drink recipes. They are responsible for making each guests experience an enjoyable and positive experience. Required to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and health of guests and that safe work practices are adhered to at all times. Some responsibilities include assisting in areas when and where required.
• Must have valid Alberta ProServe and ProTect.
• Preference will be given to applicants with a Bartending Certificate plus experience or applicants who have 2-3 years’ experience as a bartender.
• The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Specific Hospitality food and beverage operational experience would be an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required in order to promote, maintain and deliver impeccable service standards at all times.
• Experience working with POS systems is an asset.
• Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks and/or food.
• Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard measure and recipes by practicing responsible alcoholic beverage service.
• Provide beverage and food service to guests in a professional and courteous manner consistent with established standards and levels of excellence.
• Read and understand all particulars of Event Orders, including start time, beverage and food requirements.
• Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar for the operations, which includes all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, drinkware, straws and stirrers, condiments, produce, etc. based on event order menu.
• Responsible for maintaining inventory, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality. • Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest order, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
• Receives payments from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures receipts are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
• After function, remove all inventory and beverage equipment to proper storage.
• Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and bank.
• Responsible for sanitation in and around the bar area and beverage storage area. Keeps work station clean at all times.
• After event retrieve and store bar glassware to proper storage, securing all bar storage.
• Work efficiently, effectively and professionally with other team members.
