Job description

The Town of Blackfalds is hiring a Casual Children Services Attendant 1.

You will provide care and supervision of children in the Child-Minding Program and be responsible for ensuring a safe, caring, and successful environment for participants involved in the C’amped program during the school year.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in creating structured and unstructured programming for child minding and C’Amped, including crafts, story time, songs, games, and other age-appropriate activities.
  2. Actively engage in the safety, well-being, and development of children in the programs, attending to their physical, social, and emotional needs positively.
  3. Ensure appropriate use of facilities by guests and enforce facility guidelines and rules.
  4. Follow all safety practices and provincial legislation.
  5. Assist with special events as required.
  6. Prepare and maintain program equipment, supplies, and space.
  7. Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints directly or by referring to senior staff.
  8. Handle routine correspondence such as incident reports.
  9. Perform other related duties as required.
  10. Maintain a positive guest service approach throughout the department.

  • Knowledge and skills in MS Office Suite.
  • Understanding of developmental abilities and age-appropriate activities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing program needs.
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Certificate or diploma in Recreation, Education, Early Childhood Development, or Physical Education, or related work experience.
Additional Requirements:
  • Standard First Aid with CPR “C” and AED.
  • RCMP Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening & Child Intervention Check.
  • Valid Driver’s License with current Driver’s Abstract.

Casual hours vary. The starting hourly wage is $19.37 per hour.
