The Town of Blackfalds is hiring a Casual Children Services Attendant 1.
You will provide care and supervision of children in the Child-Minding Program and be responsible for ensuring a safe, caring, and successful environment for participants involved in the C’amped program during the school year.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating structured and unstructured programming for child minding and C’Amped, including crafts, story time, songs, games, and other age-appropriate activities.
- Actively engage in the safety, well-being, and development of children in the programs, attending to their physical, social, and emotional needs positively.
- Ensure appropriate use of facilities by guests and enforce facility guidelines and rules.
- Follow all safety practices and provincial legislation.
- Assist with special events as required.
- Prepare and maintain program equipment, supplies, and space.
- Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints directly or by referring to senior staff.
- Handle routine correspondence such as incident reports.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Maintain a positive guest service approach throughout the department.

Preferred Education & Experience:
- Certificate or diploma in Recreation, Education, Early Childhood Development, or Physical Education, or related work experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Standard First Aid with CPR “C” and AED.
- RCMP Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening & Child Intervention Check.
- Valid Driver’s License with current Driver’s Abstract.
Casual hours vary. The starting hourly wage is $19.37 per hour.
