Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for Regency LTC in Port Hope, ON. This temp part-time role (ends Dec 2026, with possible extension) supports medication administration, assessments, and resident care planning in the LTC home.

Reports to the Director of Care. Requires CNO certificate, RPN eligibility, First Aid/BLS, and strong infection control knowledge with excellent communication and teamwork skills with seniors.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Registration or eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
• Current First Aid and BLS certification.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and infection control.
• Effective communication and teamwork with seniors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure resident care is provided per nursing standards, observe vitals, report symptoms, and follow physician orders.
• Assess residents, develop and evaluate care plans; monitor health and refer to doctors as needed.
• Organize and direct care functions including restorative and palliative care; implement policies and procedures.
• Plan, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff; orient/train new personnel; conduct performance appraisals.
