Job summary

Coast Calgary University Area Hotel by APA in Calgary, AB, seeks a First Cook to support the culinary team with food preparation and guest service during the dinner shift. Responsibilities include station prep, quality control, safe handling, line cooking, and mentoring junior Ambassadors; requires 3 years experience, Food Safe I, WHMIS, and ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
• High school completion with commitment to IPTQ.
• Food Safe Level I and WHMIS certifications required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food as per menu, build sheets and checks.
• Maintain safety, hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen operations.
• Control stock, rotation and minimize waste, ensure quality and presentation.
• Direct and assist junior culinary Ambassadors and teamwork.
• Work various shifts and support dinner service.
