Job summary

Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education is seeking part-time/relief janitors to clean school facilities. The role covers various schools in Annapolis/Kings/Hants Counties, with evening hours from 2:30 PM to 12:00 PM. Training includes WHMIS and Safe Work Practices under AVRCE’s janitorial program.

Applicants must be physically able to perform duties and follow established cleaning methods, with safety being a priority. Compensation is governed by CUPE Local 3876 at $22.51 per hour.

Qualifications

• No previous experience is required to apply.
• Applicants must be physically able to perform duties.
• Applicants must possess the knowledge and ability to apply current cleaning methods and practices with minimal supervision.
• It is extremely important that all employees return home injury free every day and use sound judgment to identify safety hazards.

Responsibilities

• Clean all assigned areas of the school in accordance with established practices and standards.
• Perform floor care duties, such as stripping, sealing, waxing, burnishing, etc.
• Other related duties as assigned.
