Job summary

ChargerCrew Canada Inc. is seeking a technically minded EV Charging Technical, Service & Project Coordinator. You will monitor 1,000+ charging ports, coordinate service calls, and support project management with electrical drawings and site layouts.

The ideal candidate has an Electrical Engineering Technology/Technician background and CAD proficiency (AutoCAD/SolidWorks/SketchUp). Occasional field work and travel are expected.

Position Overview

We are seeking a technically minded and highly organized EV Charging Technical, Service & Project Coordinator with a strong understanding of electrical systems, experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp or other CAD Programs.

This is a technical project coordination role, combining EV charger monitoring and troubleshooting, service coordination, electrical drafting, Single Line Diagram (SLD) development, EV charging site layouts, and project management support.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day monitoring and service coordination of our EV charging network while supporting the Project Management team with electrical drawings an EV Charging designs.

The ideal candidate will have an Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist background, or similar electrical experience, and be comfortable interpreting electrical drawings, and applying basic requirements of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor 1,000+ EV charging ports through cloud-based network management platforms.
• Identify offline chargers, communication problems, hardware faults, and other operational issues.
• Perform remote diagnostics, troubleshooting and work with ChargePoint Technical Support.
• Determine when an issue requires an on-site service call.

Service Coordination

• Coordinate service calls between customers, technicians, and manufacturers technical support.
• Schedule and dispatch technicians for on-site service work.
• Request, receive, and track replacement parts.
• Follow service issues from initial identification through completion.

SLD & Technical Drawing Support

• Prepare and update Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) for Level 2 and DC fast-charging projects.
• Prepare EV charging site layouts using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Sketchup or other CAD Programs.
• Develop preliminary electrical layouts showing EV chargers, electrical panels, transformers, disconnects, conduit routes, and related equipment.
• Work with electricians, engineers, and project managers to ensure drawings accurately reflect the proposed installation.

Electrical & EV Infrastructure Support

• Review existing electrical infrastructure to help determine available capacity for EV charging.
• Assist with determining appropriate breaker, conductor, transformer, panel, and disconnect requirements.
• Apply a working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code when developing preliminary designs.
• Support commissioning and troubleshooting of Level 2 and DC fast chargers.

Documentation, Reporting & Process Improvement

• Maintain accurate service logs, project records, and technical documentation.
• Prepare service summaries, project-status reports, and performance reports.
• Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, troubleshooting, project management, and service workflows.
• Explore the use of AI and automation tools to improve reporting, scheduling, documentation, troubleshooting, and internal processes.
• Support in coordinating EV charging projects from site assessment and design through installation, commissioning, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, task lists, and action-item trackers.
• Review project scope, quotations, purchase orders, drawings, permits, utility requirements, and construction documentation for completeness.
• Take on more project management responsibilities as you grow into the role.

• Electrical apprenticeship/trade background with strong drafting, coordination, and computer skills

Required Technical & Project Skills

• Ability to create and modify Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Sketchup or other CAD Programs.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, panel schedules, and site plans.
• Basic working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
• A valid Ontario driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites as required.
• Coordinate inspections, commissioning, network activation, customer training, deficiencies, and project closeout documentation.
• Manage smaller EV charging projects independently as experience develops, with the opportunity to take on larger and more complex projects over time.

Asset

• 1-5 years of experience in technical troubleshooting and electrical design drafting.
