We currently have a role as an EV Charging Specialist with our multinational EV manufacturing client.

Role: EV Charging Specialist

Type: Fulltime, Perm

Location: North York, ON

Salary: $150,000 - $175,000 total compensation range, based on experience. Some flexibility in the total compensation plan can be made for a senior‑level candidate.

We are helping organizations transition to sustainable transportation through innovative electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. We are seeking a knowledgeable and client‑focused EV Charging Specialist to support the design, deployment, and management of EV charging infrastructure projects for our EV manufacturing client in North York.

Position Summary

The EV Charging Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of EV charging solutions for commercial, industrial, multi‑residential, and public‑sector clients. This role combines technical expertise, project coordination, customer engagement, and industry knowledge to deliver successful EV infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess client requirements and recommend appropriate EV charging solutions based on site capacity, usage patterns, and operational goals.
  • Support the design and deployment of Level 2 and DC Fast Charging infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with electricians, utilities, contractors, property managers, and engineering teams during installations.
  • Conduct site assessments and review electrical capacity, load management, and network connectivity requirements.
  • Assist with permitting, utility applications, incentive programs, and regulatory compliance.
  • Configure and troubleshoot charging hardware and software platforms.
  • Monitor charging station performance and provide technical support to customers.
  • Educate clients on EV charging technologies, energy management, and best practices.
  • Stay current with EV industry trends, government incentives, utility programs, and emerging technologies.
  • Maintain project documentation, installation records, and customer reports.
  • Support vendor evaluations and recommend charging hardware solutions.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams on proposals and client presentations.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Sustainability, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of industry experience in the auto/EV field.
  • 3+ years of experience in EV charging infrastructure, electrical systems, energy management, or related industries.
  • Understanding of EV charging standards including Level 2, DC Fast Charging, OCPP, and networked charging systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, load calculations, panel capacity, and utility coordination.
  • Experience working with commercial or residential electrical installations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer‑facing abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EV charging manufacturers such as Tesla Wall Connector systems, ChargePoint, FLO, ABB, or Siemens charging platforms.
  • Knowledge of Canadian or U.S. electrical codes and utility interconnection processes.
  • Experience with energy management systems, solar integration, or battery storage solutions.
  • PMP or electrical certification considered an asset.
