Job summary

Kubik is seeking an Estimator to join our team in Mississauga. You will help prepare estimates for branded environments from sketches or designs, working with minimal supervision to deliver high-quality work.

Responsibilities include attending pre-tender meetings, creating takeoffs, preparing quotations, consulting with vendors and project teams, and maintaining cost monitoring processes to support tendering.

Qualifications

  • Experience in branded environments, trade show, retail store fixtures, construction or corporate interiors.
  • Ability to read blueprints and a working knowledge of standard display building materials and techniques.
  • Experience in millwork and woodworking.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to read plans and specifications.
  • Excellent written & oral communication.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all pre-tender meetings to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Prepare takeoffs/estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment.
  • Prepare and follow-up on quotations and advise on tendering procedures (including examination and analyzing of tenders).
  • Consult with vendors regarding pricing (internal and external).
  • Identify the most effective way to produce/fabricate the product.
  • Establish and maintain tendering process and set up cost monitoring reporting and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of product suppliers.
  • Consult and communicate with Project Managers, Account Managers and others involved in the project.

As an Estimator you will play an integral part in preparing estimates for branded environments from high level sketches or detailed designs. It's essential that you can work with minimal supervision while being professional, self-directed and committed to quality work.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Attend all pre-tender meetings to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Prepare takeoffs/estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment.
