  • Experience in electrical construction and estimating is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills are essential for this role.

What You'll Do Here

  • Work effectively in a team environment and support other estimators and managers in the department.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Develop strategies and scope breakdown structures to support the estimate development process.
  • Support the Bid Manager throughout the entire proposal development duration.
  • Participation and understanding of both design/build and “build-to-spec” contracts.
  • Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, lists, and other technical documentation.
  • Responsible for the accurate take-off of quantities preparation of detailed estimates while following company policies and estimating procedures.
  • Estimate Preparation - labour hours / headcounts, material costs; tools & equipment costs; scheduling durations; and compile bid packages for subcontractors and/or equipment suppliers.
  • Analyzes sub-trade quotations, liaison with subcontractors for clarification of issues.
  • Attend estimate kick-off and approval meetings with management to review estimate details, assumptions, and risk factors.
  • Determine estimated construction durations for job forecasting and project scheduling.

What You Bring To The Team

  • Electrical Construction experience in Industrial Installations (Gas Compression, Petrochemical, Mining, Automotive, Steel, etc.) an asset.
  • Prior Estimating / Operational experience an asset.
  • Experience as a Project Coordinator on Electrical Projects an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents.
  • Strong Computer Skills, Knowledge of Acubid, Hard Dollar, Primavera P6.
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedules.
