Job summary

Pomerleau in Lévis is looking for an Electromechanical Estimator to join their Civil & Infrastructure team. In this role, you will support both new and ongoing projects, working collaboratively with the proposals team and client groups to secure project bids.

Your expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering will be pivotal to preparing material estimates and participating in project assessments. Enjoy benefits such as a hybrid work model and a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation from day one.

Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

As an Electromechancial Estimator working in the Civil & Infrastructure team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support new and ongoing project growth and challenge industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will work closely with our proposals team and various client groups to secure bids and ensure project success.

What you will do
  • Perform material and labor quantity estimates for major jobs.
  • Prepare summary quantities based on plans and specifications, classifying according to standard sections and trades.
  • Participate in the selection of concepts, types of equipment and suppliers.
  • Attend coordination meetings, site visits, and assess the difficulty of projects to be estimated.
  • Research material or subcontractor prices after analyzing bid documents.
  • Verify compliance of amounts received from suppliers and subcontractors with tender documents.
This role could be for you
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Good technical knowledge mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Strong skills in reading plans and specifications.
  • Versatility and excellent analytical skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to collaborate on projects in various fields of expertise.
