Job summary

Armtec Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking an Estimator on an 18-month contract to build and maintain relationships with customers while preparing quotations, takeoffs and bid proposals for drainage and road projects.

You will work with internal and external teams, verify tender documents, and provide technical product information. The ideal candidate has exposure to construction drawings and strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Construction Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering Technology.
• 1–3 years' experience in drainage/road construction preferred.
• Experience with estimating, bidding, quantity and material takeoffs.
• Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports.
• Advanced communication skills to convey technical information.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and data-entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Build strong, effective customer relationships and provide product solutions.
• Prepare quotations and proposals based on quantity takeoffs and send to contractors/engineers.
• Follow up on tender results and bid tracking of opportunities.
• Compile, verify, record and process forms and documents.
• Source opportunities identified through ads, internet searches, customer requests, RFQs, etc.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from project documents (drawings, conditions, provisions, geotechnical reports).
• Make consultative sales and marketing calls on all company accounts to build trust and address challenges.
