Why Join Us?

Ackard has been a trusted name in Edmonton for over 40 years, known for quality craftsmanship and homes that truly stand out. We’re a close-knit team that takes pride in our work, supports each other, and genuinely enjoys what we do. Every project is a chance to be creative, solve problems, and see the real impact of your skills. Our culture is built on honesty, integrity, respect, passion, and continuous growth—values we live every day. If you’re looking for a place where you can do great work, feel at home, and have some fun along the way, Ackard is the place to be.

What You'll Do

As a skilled and experienced Estimating Supervisor, you’ll lead one of the most vital parts of our business—costing and planning exceptional residential builds and renovations. You’ll manage the full estimation process from start to finish, coordinating everything from initial contract scheduling and review to post-contract analysis and vendor procurement. Working closely with our sales, production, and vendor teams, you ensure every estimate is accurate, timely, and profitable—while keeping documentation airtight and pushing continuous process improvements.

  • Develop and manage contract estimation schedules based on sales design agreement phase 1 (DA1) and design agreement phase 2 (DA2) timelines provided by sales team.

Estimation Process Management

  • Conduct ballpark reviews and detailed estimate reviews.
  • Oversee pre-contract plan reviews and site visits to ensure all project details are captured accurately.
  • Perform comprehensive document reviews and manage document send-outs for contracts.
  • Manage document versioning for change orders (COs), contracts, design agreements (DAs), and retainers.

Post-Contract Analysis

  • Conduct post-contract selection reconciliation reviews (RECONs) and evaluate selection sheets.
  • Oversee post-contract email reviews to ensure proper tone and error-free communication.
  • Organize and conduct trade partner agreement meetings.

Transition & Handoff to Production

  • Ensure smooth handoffs from estimation to production.
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve site changes and address any discrepancies in initial estimates.

Problem Solving & Process Improvement

  • Identify and address issues related to unplanned estimating or cost variations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop solutions for production site changes and other challenges impacting cost and schedule.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in construction estimation, ideally in a supervisory or leadership role, with 5–10 years in the renovation, carpentry, or construction industry
  • Strong understanding of contract management, estimation scheduling, and both pre- and post-contract review processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, and selection sheets with precision
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating trade partner agreements
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in cost estimation and project budgeting
  • Proficiency with estimating software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office tools like Excel and Word
  • Excellent analytical thinking, communication skills (verbal and written), and a detail-oriented approach to documentation and process accuracy
  • Ability to lead and manage teams, work collaboratively across departments and with external partners, and balance multiple priorities under tight deadlines

If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for precision and a drive to lead a dynamic estimation team, we would love to hear from you. Join us in shaping the future of our projects and driving success across every phase of our operations.
