We are seeking Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Students for our MELLOY Industrial Services Inc. to work as Estimating Students in our Nisku, AB office. We are looking for students that are available for 8 months starting in September 2025. The positions will be under the direct supervision of a Senior Estimator.

As an Estimating Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

1. Understanding and utilizing PCL’s estimating manuals, systems, and forms
2. Reviewing quantity survey assignments with lead estimator or Chief Estimator
3. Performing drafting and design duties
4. Performing assigned quantity survey
5. Providing quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department for pricing
6. Transferring and reviewing quantities with the lead estimator
7. Bid document control
8. Performing bid day assignments
9. Visiting job sites periodically
10. Developing relationships with trade contractors
11. Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment; prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
• Our Nisku, AB office is not accessible by public transportation, so the successful applicant for that location will need access to a vehicle.
