We are seeking Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Students for our Canadian Industrial Division to work as an Estimating Student in our Edmonton, AB office. We are looking for students available for 4 or 8 months starting in September 2025. The positions will be under the supervision of a lead estimator.

As an Estimating Student, depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute by:

• Understanding and utilizing PCL’s estimating manuals, systems, and forms
• Reviewing quantity survey assignments with the lead estimator
• Performing assigned quantity surveys
• Providing quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department for pricing
• Transferring and reviewing quantities with the lead estimator
• Performing general subtrade solicitation duties
• Bid document control
• Performing bid day assignments
• Visiting job sites periodically
• Developing relationships with trade contractors
• Other duties as assigned by the lead estimator

Qualifications: What you will bring to the role:

• Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical, electrical, or civil major
• A strong desire to work in a construction environment; prior field construction experience is an asset
• Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Suite; knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam is an asset
• Self-motivated
