Job description

Start Date: September 8, 2025

For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Sustainability, Finance, Accounting, Environmental Sciences, Business, or a related field! If you are not currently located in the area of this co-op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co-op term. You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

Salary Range: $4000 - $5100 / Month

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.

Responsibilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

1. Sustainability Report Development and ESG Assessments:

  • Support the development of the Annual Sustainability Report and Reporting Index (chapter drafting, assurance, proofing, etc.)
  • Support validation and conduct gap assessments against sustainability reporting standards, frameworks and ESG rating and ranking (R&R) agency requirements
  • Document and align existing and updates of reporting standards (GRI, SASB, ISSB, ESRS), including mining sector standards and data mapping
  • Support the Annual UNGC (United Nations Global Compact) Communication on Progress

2. Data Quality:

  • Update the annual sustainability databook and the ESG interactive analyst centre
  • Develop and use Bloomberg Terminal expertise for ESG and sustainability insights
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and the Sustainability Reporting team to improve data quality and report transparency

3. ESG Reporting Integration:

  • Provide support in the multi-year plan for the integration of financial and non-financial information, assessing ESG risks, opportunities, impacts, and their financial implications for external disclosure
Qualifications
  • Currently a graduate student enrolled in a master’s program, or a final year co-op student pursuing an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Sustainability, Finance, Accounting, Environmental Sciences, Business, or a related field
  • Outstanding attention to detail with strong skills in data reconciliation and management.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights
  • Basic project management skills, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing projects
  • Ability to adapt to new reporting practices in the constantly evolving field of sustainability and ESG reporting
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills - high level of interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
  • Understanding of sustainability reporting standard practices and awareness of global sustainability standards and regulations are assets
  • Spanish-speaking is an asset
