A leading financial services company is seeking a Vice President for its Canadian Financial Services Research team in Toronto. The role involves analyzing industry trends, building financial models, and collaborating with a team to produce research reports. Jefferies is seekinga Vice President for its Canadian Financial Services Research team. This individual will analyze industry macro trends and company financials. Under the direction of the Senior Analyst, the VP will help cover 20+ stocks, which will primarily consist of bank, insurance and diversified financial companies. The candidate will be part of a broader financial services team, and frequent collaboration with the rest of the team is expected.The VP will build and maintain financial models and industry databases, ensuring correct and up-to-date information for research reports that are distributed to internal/external clients. They will also work closely with others on the team to write earnings reports, company reports, monthly/weekly publications and initiation of stock coverage reports. As part of this process, the team member will also review business and trade publications, annual reports, financial filings and other sources in order to gather, synthesize and interpret data on companies followed by the Specialty Finance/Fintech Team.
Over time, the associate will help communicate recommendations to sales, trading and clients. In addition, they will help develop marketing materials for clients, meet with management teams and attend industry conferences, when appropriate.
This position is located in Toronto and coming into the office on a regular basis is required.
