Job summary

Trisura in Toronto seeks a Director to lead Equity Research & Trading within the Investments team. You will prepare and communicate equity research, conduct financial modeling, and meet with management teams and analysts, while actively trading North American equities.

You will evaluate sectors, geographies and trading strategies to support asset allocation decisions. The role requires 2-4 years in equity portfolio management or research, a Finance-related degree, and familiarity with Bloomberg

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in equity portfolio management or research.
• Bachelor/BBA/BCom or related degree with Finance/Economics focus.
• Experience with coding languages is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and communicate equity research, financial modeling, and meetings with management and analysts.
• Prepare and communicate macro/thematic research and analysis.
• Actively trade North American equities (C$ and US$).
• Evaluate new sectors, geographies, and trading strategies.

Equity Research & Trading - Director

Team: Investments

Reporting to: SVP, Investments

As an integral member of the team, you will bring

• Experience with equity diligence, analysis of financial statements/disclosure, financial modeling and valuation.


• Experience or interest in asset allocation, portfolio management, trading and risk management.


• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.


• Strong computer skills; including extensive experience with Microsoft Office and Bloomberg.


• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.


• Proven ability to work within a team environment.


• Proven ability to organize and complete work within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and communicate equity research and analysis, conduct financial modeling, meet with corporate management teams and equity research analysts.


• Prepare and communicate macro/thematic research and analysis.


• Actively trade North American equities (C$ and US$).


• Evaluate new sectors, geographies and equity trading strategies.


• Assist in asset allocation and equity portfolio management decision-making.


• Assist in portfolio-related reports and presentations for management.


• Assist in investor relations-related responsibilities - industry and competitor analysis, sell-side analyst and investor queries, presentations, etc.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in equity portfolio management or research.


• Bachelor/BBA/BCom or related degree program with Finance or Economic concentration.


• Experience with coding languages is an asset.


• CFA degree is an asset.

Salary

• The expected salary in this position is within the range of $100,000 - 150,000 / year.

This salary range reflects the expected base compensation for the role across Canada. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities.
