Job summary

RB Global is seeking an Equipment & Yard Supervisor in Ottawa to manage yard intake, inspect assets for RB Auction platforms, and display equipment in an orderly layout. You will coordinate asset exits through our systems and align inspections with Chehalis Equipment Manager.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to climb on large equipment, and outdoor work year round with regular overtime, including weekends at the auction.

Qualifications

• 5 years related work experience.

• Work both indoors and outdoors year-round
• Work regular overtime, including weekend hours at the auction sales
• Travel to other auction sites when necessary

Responsibilities

• Manage RBIO program standards and integrate with yard setup procedures.
• Maintain strong connectivity with the Designated On-Site Safety and Environmental Coordinator.
• Assist in development and adherence of EH&S policies and procedures including COR certification.
• Oversee refurbishing as it relates to schedule, budget, quality control, and accounting.
• Oversee RBIO quality control.
• Assist on the road with inspections and appraisals; travel will happen.
• Oversee customer experience as it relates to Yard and DEI at the auction site.
• Recommend best practices to improve Yard and DEI processes.
• Oversee the production of sale advertising materials.
• Monitor key performance indicators.
• Integrate the efforts of Operations Team with Sales objectives.
• Support RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: ensure everyone goes home safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Equipment & Yard Supervisor is responsible for identifying all items coming into the yard, inspecting the assets on Ritchie Brothers Auction platforms, and displaying the equipment in an orderly fashion. When the asset transacts, exiting the assets out of the yard within our administrative systems. From time to time, inspections will happen outside or the RBA site, these inspections will be coordinated with Chehalis Equipment Manager.

Qualifications

• Work regular overtime, including weekend hours at the auction sales
• Work extra hours for three weeks prior to each sale, during each sale, and for two weeks after each sale
• Travel to other auction sites when necessary

• Responsible to manage, monitor, maintain, and implement the auction site’s Ritchie Bros. Inspection Operations (RBIO) Program standards, procedures, best practices, and guidelines and integrate those efforts with the yard layout and equipment set up procedures
• Maintain strong connectivity with the Designated On-Site Safety and Environmental Coordinator and promote a culture where the health and safety of our employees is top priority for all.
• Assist in the development, evolution, and adherence of our EH&S policies and procedures including our efforts to achieve COR certification.
• Oversee the efforts of Refurbishing as it relates to the schedule, budget, quality control, and accounting of refurbishing operations.
• Oversee RBIO quality control.
• Assist on the road with inspections and appraisals, travel will happen.
• Oversee the customer experience as it relates to Yard and DEI at the auction site.
• Recommend best practices to improve Yard and DEI processes.
• Oversee the production of sale advertising materials.
• Monitor key performance indicators.
• Integrate the efforts of the Operation’s Team with the objectives of the Sales team
