Job summary

CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures in Revelstoke, BC, seeks a Seasonal Equipment & Retail Specialist. You will manage ski/board equipment, assist customers, and drive the guest experience in a luxury lodge setting.

The role is based on an 11-hour day with a two-week on/off rotation, supporting merchandising and inventory control. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in a ski/board shop, retail experience, a Class 4 license, and comfort with cash handling.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of technical shop experience with ski/board industry.
  • Class 4 Driver's License.
  • Minimum of 1 year of retail store experience.
  • Experience with ordering and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain fleet of skis, snowboards, poles, and bindings.
  • Adjust bindings and settings to support the needs of each guest.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for equipment and retail stock.
  • Oversee all merchandising and displays in retail shop, as well as being educated on product knowledge.
  • Process all cash, debit, and credit transactions.
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area.
  • Support the ski program by assisting with radio duty.
  • Driving company vehicles.
  • Support health, safety and sustainability initiatives and participate in training and emergency response as required.

Position Overview

The Equipment & Retail Specialist is skilled in technical shop duties, retail product knowledge, sales, and lends a hand with cleaning duties around the lodge. This role plays a key role in guest satisfaction in the day-to-day operation of the lodge. This is a seasonal job opportunity. This position is based on an 11-hour day, worked as a split shift. A typical schedule consists of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain fleet of skis, snowboards, poles, and bindings.
  • Adjust bindings and settings to support the needs of each guest.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for equipment and retail stock.
  • Oversee all merchandising and displays in retail shop, as well as being educated on product knowledge.
  • Process all cash, debit, and credit transactions.
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area.
  • Support the ski program by assisting with radio duty.
  • Driving company vehicles.
  • All employees will support the implementation of CMH health and safety and sustainability initiatives and participate in training and provide assistance as required during emergency response situations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical shop experience with ski/board industry.
  • Salomon Certification considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 1 year of retail store experience.
  • Experience with ordering and inventory management.
  • Class 4 Driver's License.
  • Background in luxury hospitality or remote ski lodges, preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn other relevant software platforms are important, as is the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating seasonal workloads and changing priorities. The role requires a trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed individual who can navigate complex responsibilities. Additionally, the candidate must have the confidence to interact with all levels of the company, including those in remote locations within a hub-and-spoke model.

Working Conditions

This type of lodge work is challenging and demanding. Successful staff are intrinsically motivated by a passion for the ski/board industry and creating memorable experiences with our guests. Work Environment: Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis. This position is required, at times, to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business. This position may require occasional travel to CMH areas, as well as some travel to industry functions on an occasional basis. Compensation

A competitive hourly rate will be provided based on skillset and experience, along with 4% vacation pay and potential opportunities to heli-hike and heli-ski, as available. Further details will be discussed in a personal interview.
