Job summary

The Canadian Red Cross invites applications for a Warehouse and Maintenance Technician based in Richmond, BC. This in-person role involves maintaining and repairing health equipment, transporting gear between HELP sites and client homes, and training staff and volunteers in equipment use.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge working with hand and basic power tools.
  • A valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 80lbs.
  • CPR/First Aid completed within past 2 years (or willing to take it within probation).
  • Experience working with volunteers and diverse populations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and carry out repairs, following the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Document repairs and maintain up-to-date equipment records in the inventory management system.
  • Clean and disinfect health equipment, according to standards.
  • Transport equipment between HELP sites and deliver, install, and pick up equipment from clients' homes, as per established procedures.
  • Instruct clients and caregivers in the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Support and guide new employees and volunteers by sharing technical knowledge and demonstrating procedures as required.
