Ironclad Developments Inc. in Winnipeg is seeking an Equipment Operator for our South Winnipeg construction site to safely operate and maintain heavy machinery while supporting daily site operations.

The role requires strong technical skills, safety focus, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments. You will also assist with general labour and other construction duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and operate safely.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections.
  • Read blueprints/site plans for grading, excavation, lifting, material hauling.
  • Operate equipment in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor equipment performance for efficiency and safety.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
  • Assist with placement, positioning, and securing of materials.
  • Communicate progress and issues to supervisors and team.
  • Complete daily logs and maintenance reports.
  • Assist with general labour when equipment isn't operating or demands require.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

We are looking for an Equipment Operator for our construction site in South Winnipeg who will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining construction machinery while supporting daily site operations. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in physically demanding outdoor environments. When equipment operation is not required or operational demands change, the Equipment Operator will also assist with general labour and other construction‑related duties to support overall site productivity.

Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy machinery and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre‑operational inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Interpret blueprints, site plans, maps, and verbal instructions to perform tasks such as grading, excavation, lifting, and material hauling.
  • Operate equipment in compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance during operation to ensure optimal efficiency and safety.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs, including lubrication, cleaning, and part replacement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite at all times.
  • Assist with the placement, positioning, and securing of materials and supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work progress, equipment issues, and site conditions.
  • Complete daily logs and reports documenting equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist with general labour and other construction‑related duties as required when equipment operation is not available or operational demands require additional site support.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities consistent with the scope and level of the position.
Skills And Experience
  • Demonstrated experience operating heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and operate equipment safely, efficiently, and responsibly.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable safety regulations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Physical stamina and strength to operate machinery and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and minor equipment repairs.
  • Effective communication skills to interact professionally with supervisors and team members.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and work environments.
  • Telehandler, Counterbalance Forklift, and/or Skid Steer certification, or equivalent hands‑on work experience.
  • Valid Canadian‑issued driver’s license.
