Job summary

West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. (West Edmonton Mall & Fantasyland Hotel) is seeking an Equipment Operator to maintain the mall's parking lots, ensuring safe, clean and well-marked surfaces throughout the property.

You will operate skid steers, tractors and other listed equipment, perform basic maintenance, and report issues to the Outside maintenance Supervisor. This is a full-time outdoor role requiring flexibility for a seven-day schedule in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Equipment experience with at least one listed piece.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Two years of outdoor or equipment experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work at heights and in harsh climate conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as Skid Steer Loaders, Tractors, Mobile Sweepers, Pressure Washers, and more.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and replacement of parts.
• Repair parking lots and sidewalks; fill potholes and cracks.
• Maintain parking lots; power sweep and paint lines.
• Keep exterior mall areas clean and free of debris.
• Report major issues to the Outside maintenance Supervisor.

Job description

The Equipment Operator is primarily responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of West Edmonton Mall’s parking lots.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operation of Skid Steer Loaders, Tractors, Mobile Sweepers, Pressure Washers, Sand Blasters, Gravel spreaders, Line Painters, Boom Lifts, Fork Lifts and Trucks.
• Basic equipment maintenance and repair as well as sing replacement and installation.
• Maintenance and repairs on parking lot and sidewalks including the filling of potholes and cracks.
• Upkeep of parking lots including power sweeping and painting lines.
• Ensuring all areas outside the mall are well kept, clean, and free from debris.
• Reporting major dysfunctions and problems that can’t personally be solved to the Outside maintenance Supervisor.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Equipment experience with at least one of the above mentioned. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience working outdoors or with a range of equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work at heights and in harsh climate conditions.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• This is a full-time position that requires flexible availability Monday through Sunday.
• Must hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and be able to provide a 3-year driver's abstract.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
