Job summary

Kleysen Group Ltd. in Edmonton is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Equipment Operator to join our Distribution Centre. The role involves safely operating heavy equipment to load and unload commodities, move materials, and support yard operations.

Shifts are 11.5 hours, day shifts from 6AM to 5:30PM, 5 on 4 off/4 on 5 off. On-the-job training provided. Candidates must have reliable transportation, good physical condition, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Safety-first approach.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work (no public transportation available).
• Good physical condition (able to lift 50lbs).
• Strong work ethic and reliability to attend all shifts on time.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Various heavy equipment operating experience is an asset.
• As this is a safety-sensitive position, candidates will be required to comply with our Controlled Substances policy (pre-employment/post-incident drug test is required).

Responsibilities

• Load and unload a variety of commodities on and off truck and/or rail.
• Operating various equipment including but not limited to forklifts, loaders etc.
• Operate and control the rail king and shunt/reposition tractors to move rail cars.
• Conduct routine safety and maintenance checks on equipment before and after each use.
• Training will be provided on other roles in the yard so that the equipment operator can assist where needed during their shift.

Kleysen Group is looking for reliable, safety minded individual to join our Edmonton Distribution Centre in a Full-Time Permanent Equipment Operator position. Our Edmonton yard facility spans over 80 developed acres with rail services into our yard so that we can load and offload a variety of commodities including steel, construction materials, bulk and liquid products. The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment to perform tasks such as loading and unloading commodity, excavation, material handling, and earthmoving.

The Shift

11.5-hour day shifts (6AM – 5:30PM) 5 on 4 off/4 on 5 off mixture

The position:

• Load and unload a variety of commodities on and off truck and/or rail.
• Operating various equipment including but not limited to forklifts, loaders etc.
• Operate and control the rail king and shunt/reposition tractors to move rail cars.
• Conduct routine safety and maintenance checks on equipment before and after each use.
• Training will be provided on other roles in the yard so that the equipment operator can assist where needed during their shift.
