Position Overview

The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and effectively operating heavy equipment to load, offload, or transport landscape supplies such as mulch, topsoil, soil amendments, and raw materials. The role requires maintaining situational awareness and proficiency to minimize risks of injury or property damage.

What You’ll Do

1. Operate equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, track loaders, articulating loaders, rubber tire wheel loaders, and excavators in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
2. Maintain and clean equipment regularly.
3. Report equipment maintenance or repair needs to management.
4. Assist with other duties such as receiving materials, inventory management, order processing, and general labor tasks as assigned.

Skills We Are Seeking

1. Experience operating heavy equipment (preferred).
2. Knowledge of safety and maintenance protocols for heavy equipment.
3. Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds or more.
4. Capable of working in extreme weather conditions.
5. Experience in landscaping, hardscape, forestry, nursery, or irrigation industries is a plus.
6. Ability to read and write for record-keeping and checklists.
7. High school diploma or equivalent.
