Job Summary

The role of the Production Mechanic is to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, coordinate and follow up on project activities, while complying with HSE regulations, GMP standards, and other guidelines. The role also includes using machine tools to manufacture or repair precision parts.

Main Responsibilities

Maintenance of Equipment and Mechanical Services:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment (manufacturing and packaging).
• Complete all required tasks according to service priorities respecting standards.
• Provide technical support for production equipment and resolve operational issues.
• Inform the department head or delegate of issues encountered during maintenance and projects.
• Maintain the automatic palletizing system through preventive and corrective interventions.
• Perform maintenance on equipment in other departments (laboratory, warehouse).
• Perform mechanical machining (repair and/or manufacturing) and welding tasks.
• Use the SAP system for planning and work order confirmation.
• Ensure compliance with deadlines and work orders.
• Ensure quality, GMP, and HSE during modifications.
• Respond to client requests related to mechanical issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area per safety requirements.

Projects:

• Participate in planning, organization, and implementation of projects related to production equipment.
• Support start-up and operation of equipment.
• Oversee work by external contractors on maintenance projects.
• Carry out equipment validation tasks per GMP, HSE, and regulatory standards.

Key Internal and External Relationships

Internal: Production, HSE, Quality, Procurement.
External: Service providers, contractors.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Educational Background:

College Diploma (DEC) in Industrial Maintenance or Electromechanics OR Vocational Diploma (DEP) in Machining Techniques with mechanical aptitude OR equivalent experience and education.

Languages:

French required, English is an asset.

Experience and Knowledge:

5-8 years in mechanical maintenance on production equipment, experience in machining and TIG welding, knowledge of Canadian standards, pharmaceutical industry experience.

Technical Skills:

Mechanical/Electromechanical, energy and fluids, HSE, GMP, regulatory knowledge, autonomous, reliable, team-oriented.
