Job summary

Great Canadian Entertainment is seeking a hands-on maintenance worker to care for track surfaces, equipment, and on-site property. You will operate tractors and trucks for track preparation, snow removal, and general upkeep while supporting stable areas and barns.

A valid driver's license and comfort around horses are required. Experience with loaders, graders, and welding will help in daily tasks such as stone placement, screen building, and shop cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Health & Safety.
• Safe equipment training.
• Able to operate loaders and all equipment.
• Must be able to work around horses.
• Some knowledge of the horse racing industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work the track with screen, pack, open using tractors or trucks.
• Winter use dump trucks to remove snow.
• Work loader, Grader to clean up and put stone down in dump trucks.
• Look after all property maintenance including grass cutting, weed whacking, trimming bushes, tree removal and pruning, watering flowers, picking up garbage on property.
• Clean ship and Lasix barn, muck stalls.
• Power wash all tracks equipment and vehicles.
• Build up screens (welding).
• Snow ploughing, salting roads and walkways, shovelling sidewalks and clearing snow on all property.
• Keeping Maintenance shop clean and organized.
• Any other duties as assigned.
