Job summary

Pickerel Contracting Ltd. is seeking a full-time AZ Driver to join our Road Crew on a 6-month contract with potential extension. You will report to the foreman/manager and perform duties including safety procedures and operating Tri-axle with pup/float trailer.

Candidates must have a valid AZ license, a clean driving abstract, and proven Tri-axle experience. You will keep logs, perform basic equipment checks and work in varying weather while upholding safety standards at sites in Pickerel,

Qualifications

• Valid AZ driver’s license is required.
• A clean driving abstract is required.
• Equipment tickets are an asset.
• Proven experience driving Tri-axle trucks.
• Knowledge of road safety regulations is essential.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and endure long periods of standing/sitting.
• Ability to use GPS devices and read road maps.
• Current First Aid and CPR Level C.
• Excellent communication, organization and time-management skills.
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor equipment maintenance and fluids checks.
• Safely load, secure, transport and deliver equipment and materials to work sites.
• Drive a Tri-axle with manual transmission.
• Operate 2-way radio and other communication equipment.
• Maintain records: pre/post trips, logs, load tickets, fuel receipts, timecards.
• Keep a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Follow supervisor, manager and board directions.

Job description

Pickerel Contracting Ltd. Is currently seeking a full-time AZ Driver to join our Road Crew on a 6-month Contract with possible extension. You will report to the foreman/manager; duties include but not limited to safety procedures, operating Tri-axle with pup/float trailer. To be successful in this role, you should be knowledgeable of road construction, safety regulations, willing to learn on the job, be able to work in increment weather exceptional communication, team player, time management, and problem-solving skills.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES

• Perform minor equipment maintenance/repairs, Checking and filling fluids (oil, def, etc.)
• Safely Load, secure, transport and delivery equipment and material to work site(s)
• Experience and ability to proficiently drive a manual transmission
• Operate 2-way radio and other communication equipment.
• Record keeping i.e. Pre/post trips on vehicles, Logbook (report to supervisor tag outs), load tickets, fuel receipts timecards etc.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
• Triaxle, tandem, roll off, float.
• Labourer as required.
• Be environmentally conscious and follow guidelines.
• Respect and respond to direction given by Supervisor, Managers, Board of Directors and Chief and Council

QUALIFICATIONS

• MUST have valid AZ driver’s license.
• A clean driving abstract.
• Equipment Tickets and experience an asset
• Proven experience driving Tri-axle trucks
• Sound knowledge of road safety regulations.
• Able to lift 50lbs, stand/sit/crouching for long periods of time.
• The ability to utilize GPS devices and road maps.
• Current First Aid and CPR Level C
• Excellent communication, organization and time-management skills
• Professional attitude and a strong work ethic
• Must be able to work as team and individually: self -directed
• High school diploma or GED.

Hours of Work

Full-time – 40+ hrs/week

RENUMERATION

$22-$28 per hour
