What Role Will You Play in Our Team

We are seeking a PhD graduate interested in supporting diverse environmental research initiatives supported by Imperial. Imperial leads or supports various environmental research efforts across Canada, partnering with academia and industry. The role involves project management, research review, and collaboration with universities and industry partners.

What You Will Do
  1. Represent Imperial in guiding joint industry research efforts in environmental science.
  2. Provide technical direction for internal and joint research projects.
  3. Support the development of new research projects with academia and industry.
  4. Assist in securing government funding for environmental research.
  5. Interface with industry research consortia.
  6. Summarize and document research findings in reports.
  7. Manage environmental research projects, including budgeting and planning.
  8. Support grant writing and thesis/report writing.
  9. Apply laboratory and field experimental skills.
  10. Communicate findings effectively through presentations.
  11. Manage invoices and procurement related to research activities.
About You
Skills & Qualifications:
  • PhD in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in developing and evaluating research proposals.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with industry and academic partners.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience in invoice and budget management.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
  • Analytical, collaborative, innovative, and adaptable communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Alberta Oil Sands and environmental challenges related to water treatment and reclamation.

Start date: September 2025

Work term: 24 months

Location: Calgary, AB
