What role will you play in our team

Looking for a PhD graduate that is interested in supporting a diverse array of environmental research initiatives supported by Imperial. Imperial leads, or supports, a wide variety of environmental research efforts with partners across Canada, academia and industry. The role will include project management, research review, collaboration with Universities and Industry Partners.

What you will do
  • Represent Imperial in guiding joint industry research efforts in the environmental science
  • Provide technical direction to research efforts - both internal and joint research projects
  • Support the development of new internal or joint research projects with academia and industry
  • Support Imperial, and partners, in seeking Government funding for environmental research
  • Interface with industry research consortia
  • Summarizing and documenting research in public and internal reports
  • Management of Evironmental Research Projects
  • Budgeting and Planning of Env. Research Projects
  • Grant writing and support
  • Thesis, report writing
  • Laboratory experimental skills
  • Field experimental skills
  • Presentation and communication skills

About you

Skills & Qualifications:

  • PhD in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Communicate effectively in team and industry meeting settings
  • Invoice and budget stewardship

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Analytical, Collaborative, Innovative, Initiative, Adaptable Communication
  • Familiarity with the Alberta Oil Sands and the Environmental Challenges Related to Water Treatment and Reclamation in Alberta

Start date:September 2025

Work term: 24 months
