Working with General Manager,directly supervises employees involved in provision of culinary (dining) housekeeping and laundry services. This includes hiring, training, and performance management of these employees. Fosters and promotes new initiatives; interprets, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures; monitors and evaluates service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Creating an incredible dining experience for our residents and guests.
  • Creating a warm and positive dining experience through customer-service excellence in every interaction.
  • Supervising, leading, schedulingand motivatingdining room staff.
  • Serving meals with flourish, according to proper food-handling procedures.
  • Prepare in-service training and complete inventories as assigned by the manager.
  • Maintaining and managing standards of service in the dining room.
  • Assistingthe Executive Chefin hiring Servers.
  • Supervises and mentors the Hospitality Services teams in provision of high-quality client-centered services.
  • Follows policies, procedures and industry standards and is aligned with the Optima Way
  • Leads delivery of flexible hospitality services in support of resident service.
  • Develops and adjusts cleaning and laundry schedules, oversees, and evaluates completion of housekeeping and commercial laundry services.
  • Develops guidelines and protocols for safe use and deployment of commercial laundry equipment, vacuums, extractors, floor polishers and chemical / ware-wash / detergents.
  • Reviews all resident and family feedback to ensure services are realigned when necessary to meet customer expectations.
  • Conducts monthly meetings with staff to ensure efficiencies, health and safety and company procedure compliance.
  • Collects and maintains statistical information used to evaluate overall hospitality program effectiveness, client satisfaction and compliance with program objective
  • Champions hospitality quality improvement initiatives by conducting service audits, interpreting results and making recommendations for improvement to the General Managers.
  • Supports General Managers in financial management of culinary and housekeeping supplies and services including exploring and reporting on monthly variances, oversees month end inventory.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have restaurant or hotel serving experience, along with Food Safe Level 1, Serving it Right and WHMIS certifications.
  • Must have 3 years of experience as a server team leader or similar position in the hospitality or seniors living industry.
  • Demonstrate anability to supervise, coordinate and plan the day-to-day operation of the dining room.
  • Possess an upbeat and positive personality; bringing good energy day to day.
  • Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment, solving problems like a true pro.
  • A detail oriented person, an excellent communicator and a customer service superstar.
  • Ability to understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families and the professionals engaged in their care.
