Job summary

Northern Health is seeking an Environmental Services Worker for a casual position at St. John Hospital. Under supervision, you will perform a variety of cleaning and disinfecting tasks across patient areas, operating rooms, labs, and common spaces to uphold Northern Health standards.

The role supports infection prevention and control measures, working across shifts as a casual employee to ensure a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.

  • Performs environmental cleaning and disinfection in patient rooms, operating rooms, diagnostic areas and common areas as per policy.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and sanitary conditions throughout the facility.
  • Works as a casual employee under supervision and rotates shifts as needed.

Job description

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a hard working and dedicated Environmental Services Worker to fill a Casual position at the St. John Hospital. In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position performs a variety of environmental services duties throughout the facility. Maintains clean and disinfected conditions in areas such as patient/resident/client rooms, Operating Rooms, Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory, Labour and Delivery Rooms, washrooms, corridors, hallways, lounges, offices, and common areas used by staff, visitors and patients/residents/clients as established in Northern Health Regional Environmental Services Policies and Processes.
